Two years have now passed since our charity last carried out cleft surgery due to the ongoing pandemic that has taken over our world. We are desperately hoping that operations can start again next year and the Indonesians boarders will reopen to the outside world.
But this has not stopped us working as a charity thanks to our ongoing donations. When the pandemic started we decided to focus on the immediate problem around us which was poverty. In the last two years we have helped thousands of families enjoy a slightly easier life. We have distributed tons of food to people directly affected by the pandemic. We have a very successful project running which employs tailors to make masks for school children. All our tailors suffer from disabilities due to polio or other bone related diseases. Their work had come to a standstill due to the pandemic but they are now employed to make masks which we distribute to local schools for free. We have been able to buy and distribute wheelchairs to people in desperate need; so many charities have stopped working here in Indonesia due to the pandemic so we have tried to help where ever we can. We have built three houses for families who were all living in the most dangerous conditions. We have given phones to families to enable their children to study on line. Employed people to make weaving machines and started small businesses, we have tried to create employment where ever we can. If you would like to follow our work more closely all our stories are published on our face book account. Thank you so much to everyone that has supported us though these hard times.
