We found Gracia when she was 16 years old. Sadly she had had a terrible operation on her lip when she was 12 which was given to her by an inexperienced surgeon. Her palate had not been closed so her speech was incredibly hard to understand. Sadly, this is a very common case in Indonesia as there are many doctors carrying out cleft surgery when they are not qualified to do so. We take many patients in every year to have their previous operations repaired. Since we met Gracia back in 2014, she has had her lip re-closed and her palate repaired. A few months later she came back to us and had intensive speech therapy as well as dentistry work. She now looks amazing and her speech has improved immensely.
